Lesson 12 of French: describe yourself physically

At the beginner level (A1 level), knowing how to describe yourself physically is one of the first things to learn. This will be useful for you to have a basic conversation with a French speaker. The video below will teach you how to describe yourself physically in French. To understand and speak well, watch the video several times, repeating aloud after the teacher.

Thanks to this video and this article, you will be able to describe yourself simply in French (beginner level, level A1). For example :

Je suis un homme. = I am a man.
Je suis grand. / Je suis petit. = I am tall. / I am small.
Je suis gros. / Je suis mince. = I am fat. / I am thin.
J’ai les cheveux blonds. / J’ai les cheveux bruns. / J’ai les cheveux roux. = I have blond hair. / I have brown hair. / I have red hair.
J’ai les yeux bleus. / J’ai les yeux verts. / J’ai les yeux marron. / J’ai les yeux noirs. = I have blue eyes. / I have green eyes. / I have brown eyes. / I have black eyes.

Another example:

Je suis une femme. = I am a woman. 
Je suis grande. / Je suis petite. = I am tall. / I am little.
Je suis grosse. / Je suis mince. = I am fat. / I a thin.
J’ai les cheveux blonds. / J’ai les cheveux bruns. / J’ai les cheveux roux. = I have blond hair. / I have brown hair. / I have red hair.
Je suis blonde. / Je suis brune. / Je suis rousse. = I am blonde. / I am brunette. / I am a redhead.
