In French, the expressions of directions (à gauche = left, tout droit = straight ahead, à droite = right, etc.) must be mastered at beginner level (level A1). They allow you to indicate and understand an itinerary, to give or ask for a route. Thanks to the video below, you will learn the directions in French:
To fully understand in writing the expressions of directions and to write them well in French, copy them several times. Use the drawings in the video to help you understand the meaning of each direction. Here is the list of direction expressions presented in the video (in chronological order):
- tourner à gauche
- aller tout droit / continuer tout droit
- tourner à droite
- prendre la première à droite
- prendre la deuxième à droite
- prendre la première à gauche
- prendre la deuxième à gauche
- traverser la rue
- au coin de la rue
- faire demi-tour

- tourner à gauche = turn left
