The Louvre museum

The Louvre Museum is one of the largest museums in the world. It is located in the heart of the city of Paris, near the right bank of the Seine. The building is a former royal palace. The main masterpieces of the Louvre are paintings, sculptures and archaeological objects… It houses the famous Mona Lisa, by Leonardo da Vinci.

Eiffel Tower

In 1889, the engineer Gustave Eiffel proposed to build the tallest tower in the world in Paris. Construction lasts 2 years, 2 months and 5 days. Today, it is 12 meters taller, so 324 meters with its radio and TV antennas...

The Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris

Notre-Dame Cathedral is located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, on the Ile de la Cité. It is a place of Catholic worship dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Notre-Dame has a total area of 5,500 m². The length of the cathedral is 127 meters and its width is 48 meters. The towers are over 69 meters. On April 15, 2019, a fire broke out, destroying much of the roof and the spire.

The Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is located on Place Charles-de-Gaulle, formerly known as Place de l'Etoile. Construction of the Arc de Triomphe began in 1806 and ended 30 years later, in 1836. It was Napoleon I who decided to build this monument to preserve the memory of the victories of the French armies. The Arc de Triomphe also represents a patriotic symbol, as it is here that the tomb of the unknown soldier of the First World War is located.

The Sacré-Coeur Basilica

Montmartre is one of the best known districts of the French capital. It is located in the 18th arrondissement, on a hill about 130 meters high on the right bank of the Seine. It is the highest point in Paris. This bohemian district is best known thanks to the Sacré-Coeur basilica and the Moulin Rouge, but also thanks to the Place du Tertre where many painters meet.
